Important announcement

Western Australian human services organisation PeopleKind Group has made the difficult decision to close the operations of Liift Learning (Liift).

Liift will ensure that all scheduled courses continue as planned through to Wednesday, 31 December 2025, reaffirming its commitment to participants and to its valued partnerships throughout this transition.

Over the past 18 months Liift has evolved into a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and provider of accredited and non-accredited short courses and industry qualifications in Western Australia, offering a suite of tailored programs designed to support individuals and organisations in the human services sector.

The strategic decision was made following careful consideration of the organisation’s long-term sustainability and the evolving landscape of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

PeopleKind Group, Group CEO Mark Fitzpatrick said the decision was not made lightly and reflects the genuine challenges Liift has encountered in building a sustainable and competitive position within the sector.

“Despite the dedication and hard work of our team, Liift has been unable to achieve a balanced mix of revenue sources including corporate partnerships, individual enrolments and government funding needed to ensure long-term sustainability.” Mr. Fitzpatrick said.

“We have seen the State Government invest heavily in the VET sector over recent years. Unfortunately, Liift has not been able to access that investment. The considerable costs of operating a new RTO, along with significant compliance and resource requirements, have created ongoing pressures that have made it increasingly difficult to compete with larger, more established providers with such funding”. Mr. Fitzpatrick said.

“Liift is proud to have delivered more than 180 courses to over 1,700 learners including students, employers, and community members over the past financial year. Through our commitment to quality education and skills development, we have supported meaningful learning journeys and strengthened workforce capability. These achievements have been made possible thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the Liift team, whose efforts will continue to make a lasting impact on the learners, employers, and communities we serve,” said Mr. Fitzpatrick.

“At this time our focus lays primarily with supporting our small but passionate team through this change. It equally is focused on communicating with our partner organisations so they can access training solutions from some of the excellent providers we have in the Western Australian market.” Mr. Fitzpatrick said.

All currently enrolled students have been contacted directly and Liift are working closely with the relevant regulators to ensure a smooth and compliant transition process.

We remain deeply proud of the impact Liift has made in helping thousands of learners achieve their goals, and we thank everyone who has been part of Liift’s journey.

No other organisations of PeopleKind Group are affected by the Liift decision.
